D-Shaped Surface Plasmon Photonic Crystal Fiber Temperature Sensor

A D-shaped photonic crystal fiber (PCF) temperature sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with high sensitivity and figure of merit is presented in this paper. To enhance resonance, the gold film deposited polished flat fiber. Ethanol chloroform are employed as temperature-sensitive materials, which placed outside to detect changes. When phase-matching condition met, core mode couples plasma mode. The finite element method used perform all numerical simulations characteristics COMSOL software. results show that highest can reach 6.36 nm/°C maximum (FOM) 0.3440/°C range −5 ~ 60 °C. our knowledge, achieved sensing significantly better than those current PCF sensors. Furthermore, excellent linearity a polynomial fit R2 0.9981. proposed has exceptional performance terms detection range, sensitivity, FOM, fabrication, making it suitable for wide variety biochemical medical applications.
